Welcome to the Sombathy Tennis Academy! An elite level of tennis instruction designed to maximize your tennis potential no matter what your age or current ability level. Our philosophy is to use the most modern teaching strategies and techniques in the business to provide our players with the absolute best tennis experience. The Sombathy Tennis Academy service isn't just for the brief time the player and the coach are on court together. Instead, it includes weekly updates on tennis opportunities, motivation, tennis articles, resources and even electronic feedback.
To maximize opportunity and potential for players, a variety of services are offered. These range from week long camps to private and small group lessons as well as a place on one of our JTT (Junior Team Tennis) teams. Meet Coach Sombathy
James Sombathy has been involved in tennis since the age of 7 in one capacity or the other. From youth and junior tennis to club tennis at Florida State University, he has fostered his love for this life long sport. Coach Sombathy has been active in middle and high school tennis as a coach for the past 25 years in the central Texas area and has been honored to be recognized four times as the CATA Coach of the Year.
As a USPTA professional, Coach Sombathy has coached over 110 players that have progressed into collegiate level tennis. He has had the honor of coaching over 200 champ level and 100 super champ level players here in Texas. That is in addition to hundreds more who simply improved their skills and enjoyment of the game under his guidance. Coach Sombathy has USPTA specializations in Competitive Player Development and Sports Science. Coach Sombathy is also recognized as a professional by the International Registry of Tennis Professionals, Association of Spanish Tennis Professionals, RPT Europe, Professional Tennis Coaching Association and ESTESS University.
